How to use SmitFraudfix.exe

Summary

SmitFraudfix is a useful and free spyware removal tool which can remove many types of rogue spyware. It is also an executable file like Combofix which means no installation is required. This is especially useful when the spyware is preventing you from loading or installing any anti-spyware programs.Read on to find out how to use this effective tool.

Please note that the following instructions should be written down as you will need to restart your computer

1. Download SmitFraudfix.exe and place it on your desktop. Do not do anything with it yet.

2. Restart your computer and start Windows OS in safe mode. To start in safe mode, repeatedly press F8 as soon as your computer restarts and this should take you to an options screen where you can select safe mode.

3. Once Windows load in Safe mode, select SmitFraudfix.exe which you should be able to see on your desktop. Do not worry if you do not see any of the other usual desktop icons.

4. A new window should now pop up. It will ask you to type in a specific character. Type in 2 and hit enter to start the cleaning process.

5. At some point, it will prompt you on whether you wish to clean the registry as well. Hit Yes.

6. Once the infection removal process is complete, you should now see the Disk Cleanup Program. Let it run and clean any leftovers.

7. You are now done! Restart your computer in normal mode and HOPEFULLY your rogue spyware is gone forever.
