Javaw.exe – Fix CPU and Memory Issues

javaw.exe is an official process of Sun MicroSystems. It is required by some other third party programs while accessing internet. The Basic functionality of this program is to act as a mediator between the Program which requires it for internet connectivity and the source which connects to it.

Many people gets suspicious of javaw.exe showing in their task manager. There is nothing to be suspicious about it because it is an official registered proces and will not be of any trouble to your system.

Also we find that many people confuse it with Java.exe process. Well there is a difference of working techniquies in both these processes. Java.exe is an command line enable process and you can understand the console based commands whereas Javaw.exe is just a GUI based process and in no way can it be called with console commands.

As I have said earlier it is not a virus. But we all know very well that there are many scrupulous programs that are available as vrius and trojans which can forge itself in its name and run behind the process and compromise your system.

If you have a doubt about this process just find the containg folder and check its authenticity by right clicking ths process file and traverse to “Version” tab and check the “company” and “Original file name” form there. If it is a virus it will show you some weired names. Download or update your antivirus and run a full scan of your systema and you are done.

Well some users complian that this process eats up there CPU. This is not true as it just a container pannel for the third party program that utilises this process (Azurues / Vuze / Limewire). The problem is with the third party applica

tion and not with it. So before you remove this process or terminate it just remember that , the applications which are dependent on it will not be able to run if the dependecy process is missing.

If the program that is utilising it gets hanged or freezes the memory allocated for the particular prigram is not released. Hence when you brose ot the task manager, you will find that the Javaw.exe is jamming out the memory of your RAM. It would be wise to upgrade the depenendent application to the latest version or contact the manufacturer for associated support.

There is a two way troubleshooting approach for this problem:

• Upgrade the dependent program for this process. If possible a fresh Installation is recomended.
• If you have an start-up error with this program just remove it from typing the “msconfig” command in the “run” panel. Find the “startup” tab and deselect the associated program from the startup (Vuze / Limewire / …)

This is a typical problem with many innocent users, that they tend to download the corrupt or tampered process from many third party websites who claim to coreect your error with “One Click” Solution. Beware of such fraudster, as most of them are patched with trojans and malwares which at the end of the day will not be able ro repair your system but will also flood you with many “bogus” internet redirections.

If you want to download or reinstall this process, just unistall and reinstall the associated program with which it came.
