When Lavasoft Ad-Aware rushed into the spyware blockers industry, there was a huge transition in the number of the users switching to try out this phenomena. Lavasoft was actually one of the first company to produce spyware blockers like Ad-Aware and their worldwide reputation is well justified. I love Lavasoft Ad-Aware’s design. The main theme colour of the spyware blocker is blue and white and they use the contrast perfectly to make an easy viewing spyware removal program. The navigation is well divided and the first screen you would see is your computer status, your spyware definition database status and your license status. These important information lets you know immediately if any action has to be taken immediately. I guess one thing they can change is their button image. I think they utilize too much reflection effects on their image which makes it slightly confusing to read. Other than that, the design of Lavasoft Ad-Aware is brilliant.

As one of the leaders in the computer security industry, Lavasoft Ad-Aware has a high spyware detection rate but not as high as the likes of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. However, if you are looking for a spyware blocker which can detect most of the latest rogue spyware appearing on computers then Lavasoft Ad-Aware is definitely one of those which can do the job. The reason we could not give it a five is because of its somewhat regular detection of false positives. For example, a CNET editor mentioned that Ad-Aware detected a genuine program’s uninstaller as false positive so you may wish to review each spyware entry carefully before quarantining or removing them.

When I first got Lavasoft Ad-Aware, it consumed a lot of my computer memory which made my computer performance very slow while a full scan was taking place. However, Lavasoft has upgraded their Ad-Aware Spyware Blocker greatly so that scans take a shorter time and boot cycles load at a much quicker pace.

Lavasoft Ad-Aware also comes with a well detailed documentation to help guide you through the scanning process.
