Twitter users beware: TwitViewer is on the loose
Yes, its one of those ‘we can help you find who is looking at your profile page’ applications again, except this time its Twitter. If you are paranoid about knowing who is viewing your twitter profile and such then you may have come across an application called TwitViewer already.
This Twitter app claims to help you find who’s “stalking” you on Twitter but actually, it is just tricking you. Twitviewer actually steals your login credentials when you submit your account details to them. You can say it is effectively an online spyware. Once Twitviewer has compromised your Twitter account, it will start sending notifications to all your Twitter pals to entice them into giving away their login credentials.
It is recommended that if you have visited sites similar to TwitViewer then you change your password immediately before they compromise your Twitter Account.
If you visit their website now then you may find a message along the lines of “Don’t know why all this happened but we’re shutting down … may be back up on another domain.” So please beware of any similar phishing attempts for your Twitter account.
