Fan Check Application Virus Warning
It has recently come to light that Fraudsters and malicious hackers have been creating web pages which claim to remove various forms of malware found on the popular Facebook Application, Fan Check. You are advised to avoid these sites as malicious spyware and other parasites will compromise your computer, putting your personal and confidential data at risk.
Fan Check is an extremely popular Facebook application in which Facebook users can check who interacts with their profiles the most. Fan Check actually created a lot of controversy earlier when it was formely named Stalker Check, giving Facebook users the impression that it actually allows people to see who have been viewing their Facebook profile the most.
Hackers have been taking advantage of all this confusion by creating even more havoc by introducing a Fan Check ‘Virus’. There has been no news as of yet whether Fan Check is a dangerous application but it has caused annoyance among the Facebook community with its marketing strategies.
One such example is the photo tagging strategy. If you happen to have a friend who decides to show off his/her Fan Check list by publishing it on the news feed then you would probably be tagged automatically to the photo (if you are on their top fan check list).
Facebook has yet to comment on this issue so you are advised to stay away from this application until further notice. Please note that Fan Check IS NOT based on the number of times someone silently visits (a.k.a stalking) another individual’s profile page. Read more about how Fan Check works.
