Help! My kids are accessing illegal sex sites. How do I stop them?

I do not know about you but for the last few years, I have noticed the generation of kids and children who view porn online is getting younger and younger. Unfortunately, this proves to be a major problem for parents who do and should not let your kids watch porn or visit any illegal websites online. Other than the fact that children are not mature enough to watch these erotic content, illegal porn sites are harvesting grounds for spyware. One click in an illegal porn site could expose your computer to the many thousands of viruses and spyware which exist on the internet. So how do you stop your kid (or even your husband?) from accessing illegal sex sites? Read on to find out.

#1 Show your Authority

This is not a technical solution but probably the first thing you should do. As much as it will embarrass your children (unless they happen to be perverted of course), telling them face to face is more than enough to deter them from visiting illegal sex sites again. You can also warn them that you will take the computer away if you find any traces of illegal content on the computer again. Either that or put the computer where it is easily visible like in the living room.

#2 Install an internet filter

There are many free and commercial internet filters out there which blocks your children from accessing illegal or suspicious content. They also come with features which monitor instant messaging programs like MSN Live Messenger and AIM. If you have these internet filters installed then you do not have to worry about monitoring your children’ s activity because the software will do it for you.
