How to remove personal antivirus using spyware blockers

Personal Antivirus is a rogue spyware developed by a company called Innovagest 2000. It is a clone of two previous rogue spyware known as General Antivirus and Internet Antivirus Pro. The most common way a user can obtain the personal antivirus spyware is by downloading a trojan. A user can unintentionally download a trojan by visiting unauthorized or suspicious website, downloading infected files or receive it from an infected external hard drive like a flash USB drive.

When Personal Antivirus is installed on your computer, you will be prompted endlessly by fake scan results and pop ups which try to entice you in buying the bogus spyware removal tool known as Personal Antivirus. When the program is running, it will pretend to be scanning your computer when it is merely an animation. It will then list out a long list of spyware which it ‘caught’ after your computer was ’scanned’. You may also have a fake Windows Security Center window appearing regularly and your internet browser may redirect to another site which you do not intend to access.

A window like the image above should appear if you are infected by the personal antivirus spyware. It is recommended that you perform a spyware removal procedure immediately before it puts your computer at risk of further infection and identity theft.

Personal Antivirus Spyware removal instructions

#1 Use your antivirus and spyware removal tool to scan for personal antivirus. If you cannot open the spyware removal tool because it has been disabled by Personal Antivirus then load your Windows Operating System in Safe mode and try and open your spyware blocker again. If this fails then move on to the next procedure.

#2 If your spyware removal tool is not working then it is time to use Smitfraudfix.exe. This spyware removal tool is unique compared to the likes of Spyware Doctor and Malwarebytes Anti-malware because it does not have to be installed. You can find instructions for Smitfraudfix.exe on our spyware blog.

#3 If none of the two procedures above work in removing Personal Antivirus then your next call is to obtain help from the experts and security professionals. There are many out there on the net who will offer help for free. Before you nag them about your virus problem, you first need to create a log about your computer so that the experts can analyze where the root of the Personal Antivirus is. To create a log, you will be using a program called Combofix. Again, you can find instructions for Combofix on our blog.
