I wanted to post an update here since my comment is showing up in the search engines (I’ll never get used to that and think it borders on spam).
Back to Spyware Terminator. I still use Spyware Terminator and it’s not slowing my browsers down or heating up my PC now and I think it’s because I removed the toolbar that goes with Spyware Terminator and I did away with the search option that rates each search result for safety (I can’t recall the name of that feature).
I use Chrome (default browser) and Firefox (with the IE switch button) and Spyware Terminator protects me with either browser better than any other anti-spyware/anti-virus program I’ve ever used.

I really Like Spyware Terminator but it makes my compute run a little too hot and then it freezes. It seems to take a lot of my virtual memory. I hate to get rid of it because it's really protecting me from Bad Cookies, search engine re-directs and IE popups in Firefox.
