Top 3 Internet Filtering Software in 2009
Okay. I felt slightly bad writing earlier about how someone can bypass an internet filtering software so here is a list of the Top 3 internet Filtering Software I have found this year. Just like spyware programs, there are many excellent and free programs available for your use. However, I recommend you purchase one of the three below as you will miss out on some additional features which do not come with a free internet filter.
1. CyberPatrol 2009
Coming in first place is CyberPatrol 2009. Why do I like this internet filtering software? It is easy to navigate, contains a wide range of customizable options and it also hosts a lot of great features. CyberPatrol 2009 does more than just filtering bad ass internet sites. You can also use it to monitor instant messaging chats and P2P sharing. The basic version starts at a price of $39.95 which covers 3 PCs.
2. Net Nanny Parental Controls
This program is more orientated for parental control but this internet filtering program can be applied to school networks as well. Net Nanny uses a technique called Dynamic Contextual Analysis to filter online content. The benefit of using this technique is that it is dynamic, filtering will change all the time. Say for example a news website like BBC showed a story about something violent, Net Nanny will then filter out the BBC News Website because of this. However, it will return back to normal once the violent story is moved to archive.
3. Safe Eyes 2009
Safe Eyes 2009 is another excellent internet filtering software. Safe Eye 2009 has a very clean and easy-to-use user interface. If you have a family with different filtering options for each children then this is when Safe Eyes become useful. You can create a different user profile for each individual personalize the filtering options for each person. This can also be applied in School by offering different filtering options for different school year groups.
